Our Mission
To lead young
people into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and help them
embrace His call to discipleship.
Here
at Mt. Zion we have a very active Youth Ministry with those young
people in the Tots through high school graduation. The main focus of
this ministry is to support our youth by providing events and
ministry for young people. We do not seek to compete with the latest
media technology to keep a youth’s interest; instead we rely on the
Holy Spirit to change lives. We offer, as a church, alternatives,
activities, and several programs, but the truth of the matter is the
“world’s” offerings are extremely attractive to youth. However,
there is one thing that TV, Rap Videos, R&B, Myspace.com and any
other tempting vices cannot give: genuine connections that are based
on real love. We offer real, true, genuine love relationships.
We believe youth are tomorrow's church and today's church. It is not uncommon to see youth actively participating in our ministry through music, drama, dance, you name it. Our goal is to have every adult ministry have a youth component so that youth feel more welcomed and a part of the church! We believe today's youth can be impacted positively with the message of Christ. We regularly baptize youth and children who are in a growing relationship with Christ.
The Youth Choir:
We have a vibrant youth choir that loves to lift the name of Jesus, and is
motivated
to give God the glory! New members are always welcome!
The Youth Council: is a core group of youth dedicated to the youth ministry to help provide leadership and direction for the youth department. This core group of youth assist with the coordination of youth activities acting as liaisons to the youth department at large. The Youth Council allows the Director of Youth to actively work with a core group of youth leaders; teaching leadership skills, promoting spiritual development, and challenging personal excellence in all areas. With this model, Youth Council members are trained to go make disciples of their peers and to be examples of godly leadership, remembering that they are still growing in the Lord as well.

We bring God glory by becoming like
Christ. God wants us to grow spiritually. Growing spiritually is
becoming more like Jesus Christ. The more you develop Christ like
character, the more you bring glory to God. As the spirit of the
Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect
his glory even more. (2 Corinthians 3:18)
Our Dance Ministry:
"Dance
is a visual and powerful means of expression, and is used as a means
of the Holy Spirit touching and convicting people"To this end also
we pray for you always that out God may count you worthy of your
calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith
with power; in order that the name of our Lord Jesus may be
glorified in you and you in Him, according to the the grace our God
and the Lord Jesus Christ.
We bring God glory by worshiping Him. Worship is our 1st responsibility to God. It should be motivated by love, thanksgiving and delight, not duty. If it is a duty for you to be a praise dancer then you will never have a personal relationship with God. Worship is a lifestyle of enjoying God.
We bring God glory by loving other
believers. John wrote our love for each other proves that we have
gone from death to life. (Romans 15:7). How can you dance with
someone you have no love for and still glorify God. Impossible! It
is our responsibility to learn how to love as God does, God is love
and it honors him.
